On this short break embrace the beauty of slow travel on this unforgettable hiking adventure in Tuscany and discover the unforgettable and classic landscapes of the Chianti wine region. Known as Tuscany’s ‘third’ city, after Florence and Siena, Chianti is formed home to castles, fortresses, Romanesque Churches, olive groves and row upon row of vines, interspersed with pretty wooded valleys. Hike from village to village, finishing in Siena, whose ancient center, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This alluring region has been producing world-famous velvety red wines since the 13th century, and there will be plenty of opportunities during your hikes to slow down and visit local vineyards and enjoy some wine-tasting.

Day 1 Arrive in Radda in Chianti and overnight Day 2 Hike to Gaiole in Chianti via Vertine 9 miles / 14 km Day 3 Hike from Gaiole to Lecchi in Chianti 6 miles / 10 km Day 4 Transfer to Pievasciata or San Sano; hike to Siena 10 miles / 15 km Day 5 Onward travel from Siena
