Ride on peaceful country roads and old railway lines that take you through pretty countryside and wine estates, passing charming villages and medieval walled towns with their castles and citadels. Starting in Bordeaux, leave the city on cycle paths alongside the Garonne River, passing through Haut-Medoc and Margaux to reach Blaye. Continue to Saint-Émilion, with more than 800 wine producers and an endless landscape of vineyards, some dating back to the Roman times. Have time to explore and taste the wines here before cycling through farmland and fertile plains to Cadillac and Sauternes, the home of sweet white wine.
