Heathbank Hotel on Barra was originally built as a mission house/church in the mid 1800's.  In 1948 during the making of the classic film Whisky Galore, the building was offering accommodation as a guest house. It is the ideal place to sit with a coffee or dram and watch fishing boats arriving across the bay at Ardveenish pier, with their day's catch.
